Hello Team,
Our users asked the following Question:
1. current space and groups>users are in old conf directory which we maintained using DevX.
Admins wants to move/migrate all users of old space to new space created.
2. New space created on same env but are now maintained thru our AD groups>users. users added to those AD groups thru our internal request system.
How can this be done easily?
Regards
A user can actually exist in both the internal DB and AD. Just change the order of user directories to start with, so that AD comes first, and it will take precedence (for example, on user passwords). If the AD fails, then Confluence will fall back to the internal directory.
HI Bill,
Thanks for your suggestion.
In future we will do away with the internal DB accounts and All users will use strictly AD.
That is why user is asking to move/migrate all users from Internal groups to AD groups.
So when the internal groups is deleted, users will not be affected.
Any idea how?
Regards

You will just remove the old directory from the list, so only the AD connection is still there.
I do recommend creating at last one internal admin account in case you lose connection to the AD server.

Yes, we always keep serv/app accounts for local access. Its just the regular users.
