I am installing Confluence 6.0.7 (NOT IN TEST VERSION) on a server with Ubuntu and with Jira 7.3.8 and a MySQL database installed and working perfectly.
During the installation of Confluence 6.0.7, I recommend that you use an external database. Since I have MySQL being used in Jira, I have also decided to use MySQL.
I select the MySql database during the installation, but it tells me the following message:
"Confluence needs a MySQL driver.
Please download and install a MySQL driver, then restart Confluence to continue the setup. "
My problem is that it does not let me continue, and I do not know why it tells me that I need to install the MySQL driver, when it is already installed on the server and running with Jira 7.3.8 ....
Any ideas? If needed, where can I download and install the correct version of the MySQL driver ???

¿Alguna idea? Si tiene problemas, ¿dónde puedo descargar e instalar la versión correcta del controlador de MySQL?
Yes, you still need to install that driver, in order to proceed.
What you have is MySQL, but you need to download the mysql connector for java, as mentioned here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/database-setup-for-mysql-128747.html#DatabaseSetupForMySQL-5.DownloadandinstalltheMySQLdriver

OKAY. I saw that guide, and when I was reading it, I was not sure if in my situation steps 2, 3 and 4 were necessary in my case, or just installing the driver, that's enough.
Do you think that if I install the driver directly (I think the one that should be installed is the ojdbc8-full.tar.gz from JDBC driver downloads - Due to licensing constraints, Oracle drivers are not bundled with Confluence). do not you think?

Hello,
First, thanks for your answers. I installed the MySQL driver mysql-connector-java-5.1.47.tar.gz, and copied the contents to the directory <installation-directory> / confluence / WEB-INF / lib, restarted the service and the installation of Confluence, let to work, does not access from the browser to hostname: 8090, in addition to checking the status of the service, the service is as follows:
confluence2.service - (null)
Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/confluence2)
Active: active (exited) since Wed 2019-07-03 14:53:15 CEST; 1min 3s ago
Process: 9049 ExecStop = / etc / init.d / confluence2 stop (code = exited, status = 1 / FAILURE)
Process: 9195 ExecStart = / etc / init.d / confluence2 start (code = exited, status = 0 / SUCCESS)
Only after deleting the driver files and restarting the service, you can re-access from the browser to "hostname: 8090".
The problem that the browser does not access "hostname: 8090" are the drivers.
I would like to ask you if the following question allows me:
- As I already have Jira installed with DB MySQL on the server ... if I copy the MySQL drivers from Jira to Confluence ... will it work correctly?

I don't think that would work, You will have to download and use the recommended MySQL drivers for Confluence (Jira mysql drivers might be different). Also, Confluence is more stricter that JIRA hence use this Confluence setup guide MySQL.

I followed the MySQL configuration instructions. Now MySQL does not start ... I do not end up understanding the reason. I am beginning to think about the reason why, in the evaluation version I did not have these problems and now everything is getting too complicated.
This is the bug that MySQL shows:
service mysql start
Job for mysql.service failed. See 'systemctl status mysql.service' and 'journalctl -xn' for details.
systemctl status mysql.service

Can this still get worse? I have not even looked for the correct drivers for MySQL and Confluence.
This failure has been given by following the MySQL configuration instructions.

Good Morning,
after a morning of tests I have come to the conclusion that MySQL does not start due to the following modification:
innodb_log_file_size=2GB
I have searched the internet for possible solutions to be able to modify this parameter without errors and none has worked.
I have tried other combinations such as:
innodb_log_file_size=2048MB
innodb_log_file_size=512MB
But none has worked.
Is there any problem in leaving the current configuration (innodb_log_file_size=256MB)?
