Is it possible to create a user macro that pulls system time and stores it as static content within

I want something that does not update everytime the page is updated.

This is so that you can just placed it after reviewed by >Insert User< last >Date Stamp Macro<

and then the next user can add another one.

reviewed by >Insert User< last >Date Stamp Macro<

such that the macros display the last time they review it or updated the document and not just the latest data.

once I add it up, it becomes a static content on the page.

Hello Prayuja,

I'm Elena, a product manager for Handy Macros for Confluence.

Just in case you're still interested in an instrument to record the date and time on your Confluence pages, you can easily do it with our Handy Timestamp. It's one of many other macros in Handy Macros for Confluence.

With Handy Timestamp, you can select what date and time to display:

  • inserting the macro (when the Handy Timestamp macro is added to the page, the current timestamp)
  • publishing the page (when the page was published for the first time)
  • the last page update (when the page was last modified)

Please, see the screenshots for more details.

Insert Handy Timestamp.PNGchoose what time to show.PNG

Handy Timestamp also works in Page Properties and Page Properties report. Thus, you can easily create a report to get a quick overview of the current level of progress for different users and tasks:

Hope this information would be useful for you.

Don't hesitate to book a short demo for Handy Macros for Confluence with me at https://calendly.com/eovdienko/30min?month=2021-10.

Best regards.

Elena Ovdienko.

Hello Prayuja,

You’re request is sounding more like you’re wanting a manage workflow process within Confluence to be able to track when a user made a change while including a timestamp. This could also be interpreted as meeting notes or a changelog.

For the workflow aspect, there are multiple Marketplace apps which may bring in the functionality and control you’re looking for within Confluence. Here you may find a preset search for Atlassian Marketplace | Workflow. There are a few apps within there that are designed for controlled workflows which allow you to meet auditory compliance. The staff pick within there is the Comala Workflows which may be found at Comala Workflows.

The other option would be to use the Confluence Change Log templates. More information on the usage of these may be found at How to document releases and share release notes.

These options would allow you to control edits and notes via a workflow instead of a user macro. I hope this proves helpful and gives you a few alternatives to use.

Regards,
Stephen Sifers
