Is there a way to create repeatable snippets of text

Ralph Avery November 4, 2012

In our previous 'Wiki' we had something called a Snippet.

If I wanted to put a tab in my content, instead of typing ' ' I created a snippet called 'tab' and entered {s:tab} which was replaced by the formatter at save time to reflect a tab character.

Is this possible in Confluence? I find that I really miss the ability to have a tab in my content.

I realize I can use tables, but it's not the same.

I wrote a simple user macro that kind of works the way you want.

## Macro title: Tab
## Macro has a body: N
## Body processing: n/a
## Output: HTML

Not exactly a tab, but when you want some space, type a space then {tab} then whatever else. Sadly, there has to be a space before the macro, and even if you use Insert–>Macro, it will still put a space before it.
