I know it does not show up in the offically supported list but, has anyone tired it? I found this issue on Confluence's support site that seems to indicate someone at Atlassian thinks it should be added to the list as supported.
Hi Jason
Regarding the changes between the supported and not supported SQL versions, I believe that the best approach would be waiting until get SQL 2012 compatible. However, feel free to download the latest Confluence version and try it in a trial environment.
Cheers,
Paulo Renato
On the ticket I linked to above they have added a link to an internal build ticket so, I think support is forth coming. I was hoping that the ticket that I linked to ment they just needed to add it to the supported systems list. I do have an sql 2012 server that is up and running so if I get extra free time I may point a new Confluence installation at it.

I checked with the Confluence team on the status of this - support is forthcoming - we're in the process of setting up our automated test suites to run against SQL Server 2012. I would guess at this stage that we'll be able to support it in the next Confluence release (Confluence 4.4?) - we'll have a better idea once the tests are running and we can see if any changes are required.

Support for MIcrosoft SQL Server 2012 will be forthcoming in Confluence 5.2 - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-26369 - which is due for release pretty soon :-)
