Some of users are experiencing small annoyance when using Jira macro in Confluence. They are using Mozilla Firefox -browser and for some reason, when they add https:// -link for Jira issue, it doesn't auto-resolve to Jira macro. Link stays as an normal www-link.
Macro works perfectly when they add {jira:key=ABC-1234}. I believe this is something to do with their browser settings, because when I am adding https:// -link, it autoresolves correctly.
Hello there!
As I understand, when specific users copy and paste a specific Jira Issue link into Confluence the link is not converted automatically. Is that right?
If the above is correct, we can try a set of different things:
- The same users try another browser
- The same users try incognito mode in Firefox
- A non-affected user tries Firefox in another machine
- A non-affected user tried Firefox in the same machine of one of the affected users
- Try to add the links into another page
I also found one of our articles about this specific behaviour, here:
JIRA links fail to auto-convert to JIRA macros in Confluence editor
With the content above in mind, we could try and check if the following add-ons are enabled:
JIRA Macros Plugin
jira-connector
Confluence Paste Plugin
Would it be possible for you to check if those plugins are enabled?
Let us know from you Teemu. Looking forward to your reply.
We have tested this in our enviroment for sometime. Problem seems to be some kind of browser setting. Internet Explorer auto-resolves correctly, also Mozilla Firefox version 60.6.1esr. Users are reporting errors when using Google Chrome or at least Mozilla Firefox 66.0.5.
I have read earlier that article and all plugins are enabled. Problem seems to be some what related to earlier security patching to Confluence version 6.6.13, because before that auto-resolving was working. Or both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox -browsers have received some updates, which have broken this feature.
