Macros - not working after confluence upgrade

Hi,

I used to have macros in confluence pointed to jira, but after I upgraded confluence to version 5.4.3 I get error:

com.atlassian.confluence.macro.MacroExecutionException: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

I use SSL certificate for jira and confluence. It’s setup on apache which is connected to tomcats using AJP.

I don’t have encryption directly on tomcat servers.

Everything was working fine (until upgrade) and I didn’t have to import SSL certificate, to establish connection between confluence and jira.

I was trying to fix the issue by importing apache SSL certificate to confluence like in this tutorial: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Connecting+to+SSL+services

After import I’m getting error:

com.atlassian.confluence.macro.MacroExecutionException: Unable to connect to site specified: Connection refused: connect

What else should I do ?

Hi Karolina,

I'd take a look in this documentation, that explain why we're getting such error:

I know is a Stash documentation, but it the same principle. The steps are the same.

Also, I'd use SSLPoke to do the testings to see if everything is correct as this documentation shows:

Hey,

Couse of the problem was certificate.

I found out that certificate which I download with “Portecle” application has smaller size than certificate that I actually use on apache server.
When I used certificate directly copied from apache everything went fine.
