Mention function doesn't work if you reply directly from notification dialog

Hopefully this picture explains the problem clearly enough.

I select 'Reply from the notification window:

I type in my message, trying to mention the person, but it doesn't recognize the name.

I places the reply in the correct place on the page, but the mention is not correct.

It looks like you can't mention users from the notifications for now.
The @mention option only works in the comment section of the page itself.

I have created a suggestion ticket for this feature however, that you can find below.

• CONFSERVER-56431 - Allow user mention from workbox notification replies for comments

Do vote, and watch the ticket above, as this will increase it's visibility.

A thought - maybe the reply maybe should not show here if the full comment functionality doesn't exist? As in the comment section on the page.
