HI
How do I Easily mergde lots of pages into one NOT using Included pages.
As it is now the main page contains a lot of included pages with a lot of included pages...., which I would like to assemble into one flat page. All the basic pages are only used that one place. so the included page, with an included page is not necessary, and hell to maintain.
If you export the page as Word and reimport it, the styles should be maintained and subsequently the TOC. You might also try exporting to PDF, using Acrobat to convert it to Word then reimport it if the layout is better.
In either case, the attachments will be lost, but any inline attachment thumbnails and graphics should remain.
Another thing to try would be to export all the pages as Word docs, then use Word to merge them then reimport the new merged doc.
If you have Acrobat, you can use the space backup feature to save all the pages you want as a giant PDF in one shot, then convert that to Word and reimport.
In the end though, what is "a lot of included pages"? We've all spent an afternoon redoing something that seemed to make sense at the time. And while we grumbled while we did it, Getting it done right is very satisfying.
I'm afraid there's no easy way to do that. You could start messing around with scripts or exporting pages and re-importing them, but the best option might be a simple copy and paste exercise.
If you want rid of all or almost all of the includes, there might be some mileage in copying the whole page as it is rendered and pasting that back into an edit - it should preserve all the text and most (hopefully all) of the formatting.

Ah, attachments, yes. You'll need to edit the main page directly.
Copying and pasting text should still preserve headings for the TOC though, so you should be able to do blocks of rendered text to replace the includes.

7 main pages with among 4-7 levels of included pages, with at least 8 included pages on each level. with 0-10 attachments - and then there is links. *sigh*
It will most lightly end up with me doing it all over, from the bottom up
