Migrating from Linux/Postgres to Windows/Oracle

Our organization is in discussions to move our Jira/Confluence/Crowd from Linux servers backed by a Postgres database to Windows servers backed by an Oracle database.

The ideal solution would be that export and import would handle all those details, since the data is in XML format. Or am I being way too optimistic?

Export/import is indeed the easiest and safest way to do it.  But it only works for small and medium Atlassian systems - if you have a huge system, it may fail to export, and then you're into the nightmare of having to do it piecemeal or worse, by having to write SQL conversions of some sort.

We use export/import all the time to clone production for our dev and test servers. And yes, it does fail from time to time, so we will have to build that into our schedule.
