Page ID

Piotr Nowak June 4, 2019

Hello,

Can a newly created page in confluence get the same ID as the previously removed page?

I have link to some page now I'm used that link and I think that the page has different content.

Anyone knows answer?

It does not recycle page ids, they just keep going up (I once had to dig this out of the source code years ago).  There are some things which can get broken which can lead to duplicate page IDs but they're not common.

Pages can have the same name though - once a page is deleted, the "friendly" name of it can be reused in that space.  For example, if I were to delete a page called "Nic has a cat", and then a few weeks later create a new page called "Nic has a cat", then the old url for https://myconfluence.org/display/NIC/Nic+has+a+cat would start working again.
