I'm at a bit of lost as to how Confluence keeps log files and page history. When I view the log files found in /var/log/httpd, I see Confluence is only keeping ~4 weeks of log files but when I use macros like Popular, the macro can report data back much further than four weeks. Is Confluence keeping log files in other places that I'm missing or is there some black box history that the individual pages are keeping?
Thanks!
Hi Bimmel,
Confluence store the page hit and like in <confluence-home>/index/edge
. The logs file is use to record the stacktrace of the confluence and these informaton is not used by the macro in the Confluence.
Hope this clear your doubts

Jing Hwa
Hmm, I didn't find the directory you spoke of but I did find this:
<confluence-home/application-data/confluence/index/edge
Is that the directory you're speaking of? if so, how do I read the files found in there?

I tried this directory and there seems to be nothing but binary files. I don't believe a third party package (like Splunk) can read these files or am I missing something?
