Permissions are set in Jira and propagate to confluence, how long for them to propagate?

PR23 October 2, 2023 edited

We set our groups through AD in JIRA and they propagate to confluence

I have a user in Confluence that we can't @. She also doesnt appear in the people directory. She does appear in the user management section though. She cant even log in to confluence

In Jira she appears in the "Jira users" groups and can access no problem. In confluence, when I check her groups, it still doesnt show her in the Jira users group. I manually re-built the content index and that didnt solve it either. Should I give it a day to see if the Confluence groups shows the "jira users" group?

I compared her groups in confluence with someone who has no issues in confluence, the only difference is the she isnt in the jira users group in confluence.

Hi @PR23 ,

By default, it can take up to 60 minutes. In Confluence, search for "user directory" in settings. Edit the Jira user directory. This works only if you are logged on as a local user.

There are also some options to update the groups on login, e.g.

Do your user management in Jira basically, not in Confluence. Is Jira connected with the Active Directory (see your first sentence).

Kind regards,

Bert
