The issue mentioned in this forum seems to be resolved in May,20 by the plantUML community.

The same issue is still seen when using the same syntax in plantUML macro in Confluence
I am on the latest version of the plugin 6.4.4 and our confluence version is 7.3.3.
The tree created using notes does not reflect the hierarchy correctly
