Can someone tell me what alternatives do I have for Confluence Search and Replace Plugin? Confluence v.5.x

Is it still necessary, for this version of Confluence?

There are no alternatives right now ... unfortunately. You can still use it though. You just need to wrap it all in a wiki markup macro.
