Auto update or clone page in confluence.

Hello.

In Confluence we have gathered all our documentation in one space, but now we want to give a select customer access to a specific page, for the API they want to use. Now, I dont want to give them access to the whole space since they will ayomatically get access to all new nodes on that even if I close all the other pages and their children.

I could create a new space and have this documentation there, but then it will be separate from the other documentation. I tried the "include" macro, but the content was restricted, of course.

Right now I have just copied the page to a new space, but that is not the long term solution I am looking for. Does anyone have a solid solution for this? Maybe an add-on that updates clones of pages automatically or something?

There seems to be no good solution to this so I have resolved to move the pages to a separate space, and include them in the restricted space.

The Adhoc workflows plugin from Comalatech would be one approach here. You could tag the pages you want to share, then the workflow would recognize these and you would have control as to what is shared with your customer, and when. You could proceed in 2 ways:

1) "Publish" such pages to share them with the customer, while anything in "draft" would remain hidden to them (a particular workflow setting controls whether drafts can be seen by everyone or not).

2) "Remote publish" the pages, either to a 2nd Confluence instance, or to another space in your current instance which has the appropriate space permissions to give access to your customer. This would allow you to keep your current space private to internal users only.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, that would seem to do the trick, although it is a bit too pricey for just the small feature I am after.

Power Scripts requires access to the Admin Console on Confluence, so it is not a solution intended for general users, unfortunately.
