I don't need a space logo on top of the left navigation panel. How can I disable it, please?

You can't "turn it off." You can try making a solid color "logo" that matches the color of the sidebar and use that as the space logo.

That still kills my vertical space in the left-navigation panel. sad

Is there no way at all to remove that? How about CSS?

Does that work for Confluence version 5.7?

If you go under Space Administration for the space in question, there is a menu option called "Change Space Logo". There you can turn off the logo or add your own.
