I am using the internal database for usermanagement and recently we installed aan Active Directory. We don't have all the accounts in AD (because some external suppliers have access to Confluence and they are not part of AD) butr I want to merge our internal accounts to an AD-account without losing data.

Is this possible in 5.5.2?

Thx

As far as merging the actual users, that's not possible. If you create a new user in AD, you will also have to recreate that user's group memberships manually. There isn't a way to migrate those memberships over from the internal user to the new AD user without some database manipulation, which Atlassian does not support. But if you're interested, there's a KB for that: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/Migrate+Local+Group+Memberships+Between+Directories

However, when you create a user in AD, as long as that user has the same username as the user in the internal directory, the association between the user and the content they created under the internal user will remain.

Hope this helps!
