Hi!
We are having an LDAP connection to a MS AD, but found that some settings are not correct. How can the LDAP connection be changed? I do not find a possibility to eiter change or delete the user directory.
regards,
Christian
Hi Christian,
If you log in as a Confluence Administrator and select Browse -> Confluence Admin -> Security -> User Directories you should see a list of all of your directories (including the Confluence Internal Directory) with options to change the order in which Confluence searches the directories and options to Disable, Edit and Synchronise as well as a button to add a new directory.
Do you not have these options?
Documentation is available at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Connecting+to+an+LDAP+Directory
Andrew.
This is what I see: (and as I can not add an image, I try to write it in text form) - nevertheless, there is no EDIT.
Directory Name Type Order Operations
Confluence Internal Directory Internal Up Down Disable
Active-Directory-Server MS AD (Read Only, with Local Groups Up Down Synchronise

Hi Christian,
Rian is correct - you need to log in with an admin user that is not a member of the LDAP directory that you are trying to edit/disable.
If you don't have one already, create a user with admin privileges in the Confluence Internal Directory and log in with that user. You should then be able to edit/disable the MS AD directory.

Hi Christian,
May I know what is the version of your atlassian product? If you're using JIRA 4.2 and below, you might need to configure it on osuser.xml or in the LDAP configurer in Admin -> System -> LDAP. And for JIRA 4.3 and above you can achieve this by configuring it in Administration > User Directories using embedded crowd. For Confluence prior 3.5 you need to configure it in <confluence-install>/confluence/WEB-INF/classes/atlassian-user.xml and for latest version you can achieve this by navigating to Confluence Admin -> User directories. For more ifnroamtion please refer to the following documentation.

Hope this information helps.

Josua

I see, it seems that you're using account from the AD itself which is why you could not edit the options of the User directories. To be able to edit the user directories, you need to log in using account from the internal directory, so that you will have the freedom in configuring the user directory. It's because Confluence, won't allow you to get locked out if there's some unwanted changes in the user directories your user is located in.

We are using Confluence 4.1.3 and the problem is that we want to change our LDAP connection. How is this possible? I do not find any button or whatever in the system or anything in the documentation....
