Confluence SSO for Data Center is encoding query parameters

Marlene Koh August 4, 2021

I have configured Confluence to use SSO 2.0 with the SSO for atlassian server and data center plugin.

The SSO I am using is OIDC with Keycloak.

When I go to the confluence login page, I can see the Login with IdP button, and using it successfully routes me to Keycloak login page, then redirects me back to confluence.

The problem: If I go to a confluence site or page with additional query parameters

?spaceKey=ABC&title=123

the & will become URL encoded into & like so:

?spaceKey=ABC&title=123

And this results in a "Page cannot be found" error.

Any advice is appreciated, thank you!

Hi Marlene,

This seems to be an issue with the URL Encoding. If the SSO module has not handled encoding, this issue might come up. I would suggest raising a ticket with the Atlassian team for the solution.

You can also take a look at the Confluence OIDC SSO plugin. Here URL encoding support is provided along with several other useful features like Profile Mapping, Group Mapping, Custom Attribute Mapping, OIDC Logout, Customizable Request, and many more.

P.S. I work for miniOrange, one of the top SSO Vendors in the Atlassian Marketplace.

Feel free to reach out to miniOrange Support in case of any help.

Thanks,

Shradha
