Confluence Server as a service: How to access backup and other files

Joel Ponce September 4, 2018

Hello,

We hosted our trial version Confluence on our own Linux server (EC2 instance) following these instructions: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/installing-a-confluence-trial-838416249.html

Because it was installed through an executable bin file, my understanding is I don't have access to the files inside this directory. That is, I can't access the server.xml file or the backups directory, etc. As we're preparing to move to a production environment, how can I ensure I don't lose the configuration settings we changed during the trial?

*Edit: We're now on a paid instance of Confluence Server and our System Information settings says this is the path it's referencing in different path variables:

/home/ec2-user/atlassian-confluence-6.10.1-x64.bin.10626.dir/

I was silly and was looking in the wrong directory... When Confluence is installed, the default directory is at opt/atlassian/confluence.
