Connect Confluence Macro to JIRA

Jackson Egan July 11, 2013

I'm trying to pull JIRA project information into a Confluence Macro, use it to populate some template variables and then send information to JIRA to create an issue based on user input from a Confluence Macro Plugin. The macro is working fine in Confluence, but I'm having a really hard time connecting to and gathering data from JIRA. Is there any documentation on this kind of thing?

Sounds like you want to use Application Links. Start with the documentation at https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/APPLINKS/Application+Links+Documentation

I've seen this, but it doesn't do a great job of covering the finer points of this connection in plugin development. I can learn what I must to make this work, but a list of packages doesn't really help me. I'd at least like an example third-party plugin that uses app links to share data. Anything come to mind?

I don't know of any third-party plugins where you can access the source, but you could use the bundled JIRA issue macro as a guide.

You can access the source for these (there are actually 2 macros) at:
