Hi
I have tested to upgrade Confluence from 4.1.7 to 5.1 and now I want to downgrade to 4.1.7 again.
I have restored the database to the state before the upgrade and changed confluence home to a copy of how it was before the upgrade.
I have also changed the war file back to the original.
The problem that I have is that when restarting Confluence 5.1 is starting and not 4.1.7.
Is there some cache that shall be removed?
Does anyone have an idea of what I have forgotten.
Regards,
Michael Danielsson
Hi
I managed to locate the location where tomcat extracted the files from the war file.
After deleting this directory it worked.
Did you install Confluence 5 in it's own new directory? Not somehow on top of the old one?
My first guest is that the service is starting the upgraded one, are you on Windows or somekind of Unix? if you started the Confluence 5, you're going to have to go through the downgrade process again, I think

I just created a new confluence.war file and put it where I am supposed to.
I guess that tomcat unpacks it somewhere.
I have separate confluence home directories for the different versions.

Perhaps you were starting up the wrong version of Confluence? You need to ensure that you are starting up the correct version of Confluence which is 4.1.7 from the correct installation folder.
