Hey all,
I am trying to create a page which uses 4 excerpts from one other page to mirror any changes being made there onto this new page.
I tried looking up this answer and while I got a few leads, especially one in 2021 about being able to name excerpts but I can't seem to replicate the function. We are running on ver 7.19.10 but I am sure we cannot use plug-ins so I am kind of stuck.
Is there any solution outside of a back and forth with IT to allow plugins?
Thanks
Hi @Shawn C
Welcome to the community.
There is no multi-excerpt.
The solution provided by @Robert Reiner _smartics_ is an option you can implement.
Otherwise you do need a 3rd party app.
For Confluence Server / Data Center there is no multi-excerpt provided. I assume it is the same for Confluence Cloud. (Update on 08/14/2024: for Cloud there is - see Antony's answer!)
Since third-party apps are not an option, maybe you can redefine your solution by editing the "parts" and have a page that transcludes these parts into one page? So each piece of your content would be on a separate page from which other pages can fetch it using the Excerpt Include Macro as needed.

I really appreciate the idea!
Unfortunately, I cannot separate the page by nature of what it is.
I will try to fight with my admins for some 3rd party stuff if possible haha
Thanks!

The 2021 post on named excerpts is likely this one:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Insert-multiple-excerpts-from-the-same-page/ba-p/1847318
The OP doesn't describe in detail why it failed for them, and it did work for me, but one detail perhaps worth making explicit, is that you can only include excerpts from the page you selected, not from its subpages.

It also looks like this (named excerpts) applies only to Confluence Cloud, although, from what I've read.. there is no definitive information this is the case.
So it would appear that Robert's response above is correct, except for the Confluence Cloud part.
Hopefully named excerpts will be available for Server/DC soon! Or we get forced to the cloud.. or 3rd party add-on.. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-2932
