How to add search in confuence sidebar

Hoan Pham October 13, 2014

After spending hours looking into KB and documentation, we need some help to locate a how-to.

Basically, we would like to add a 'pagesearch' from a root location, on the left sidebar, similar like the one in your KB:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/JIRA+Features+and+Best+Practices

Left panel:
- Profile, shortcuts...
- Search box
- Page tree view

Thank you.

Hi Hoan!

The KB uses the documentation theme, which by default includes this search box. Switch the design via the space admin > design > documentation theme (click "Configure theme" to add some more links, e.g. via a macro in "Navigation", to the sidebar)

Hope this helps.

Regards, Mirko

The link does not show how to add a search box to navigation pane. Any help?

I've tried adding livesearch wiki markup to navigation pane but it doesn't show well in the default theme.

not useful if you are trying to solve it yourself and not buy from the marketplace
