How to get inserted symbols to show in PDF export?

I inserted several symbols (greek letters) into a page which do not show in exported PDF. Is this a confluence bug, or might I be missing something?

Hey John,

Seems like there is a bug to export non-Latim encoding to UTF. You might want to take a look on it, it is listed under number #: CONFSERVER-25887. It also has a workaround that might be helping you out!
