When exporting to PDF, Confluence can automatically create a numbered table of content ; but the created numbering is not displayed in front of pages title. I would like my titles to have a number, the one that is displayed in the numbered table of content.

I see two solutions :

  1. I find a solution to display the page title number which needs to be related to the automatic numbered table of content
  2. I find a solution to create the table of content without automatic numbering. And I manually add numbering in front of my titles in each Confluence pages.

What solution can be possible ? How to do it ?

Thank you for your help,
JC

Hi JC, had you considered using an app to generate your PDF content from Confluence? We (K15t) develop Scroll PDF Exporter and this app allows you to automatically generate a Table of Contents from the heading content included on your exported Confluence pages. Within the export templates that you can configure within the app, you can then style how this Table of Content is formatted in the PDF and make any necessary changes, such as choosing your numbering style (eg. alphabetical, Roman numerals, numbers etc) or defining the leader type which directs to the page number. If you're interested you can learn more about the app here from our Get Started video and you can also trial it for free from the Atlassian Marketplace. I hope this information helps. Cheers, Thomas (K15t).
