Import Word Document does not import into the space folder you are on. It sorts it in the main space. This causes confusion for users looking for files they imported and a mess when trying to keep steps in order. Has this been changed? or do we have a lot of cleanup after a Word document import?

Indeed, Word import will import the file on the same level with the parent page and this is the current behavior which I totally agree that might be misleading. I suggest to vote/watch comment on https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-56149 for our Product Management team to consider this functionality.

As one workaround, we can recommend to Reorder the pages from Space tools > Reorder pages.

Unfortunately, it is hard to identify the pages which were created with Word Import in order to suggest you one cleanup option.
