OfficeConnector 1.18 can consume an entire confluence heap.

Similar to these issues:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-21043

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-17225

There are certain excel files that when attached to a 3.4 confluence can go off into a rendering loop and eat up gigs of ram until your app chokes and dies.

The tickets above have some sample files. I can post another when i remove the sensitive information.

We use connector 1.8, and confluence 3.4.8, and have about 2500 daily users.

I have been trying to hack in a max-rows and max-cols for the viewxls macro, as that seems to fix it. But that particular macro is too segmented.

anyone have any ideas?

Hi Eric,

One of the possibilities in order to fix this problem that you're experiencing would be an upgrade to a more recent version, as we can see in the bug reports that you mentioned they are fixed in the latest versions (from 4.0.5 onwards), so this could be an option.

But to have a better investigation of the problem and confirm the best approach I would like to suggest you to raise a support ticket at our Support.atlassian.com and so we can perform a review of the case and point to you the best solution.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

LJ.

I have been making a case for upgrading, but the removal of the wiki editor has a lot of our coder-users resisting. We are a very large company, and getting folks to accept new UI's is difficult.
