Planning an upgrade from Conf 5.9.1 to 6.1 or later. Should all add-ons be upgraded or updated prior or can they wait until after?
Hey Anne Marie,
You can click on the Cog Icon > Add-ons > add-ons and scroll down to the Confluence Update Check to check the compatibility of your add-ons with the version you are targeting to upgrade to.
If your users rely on particular add-ons that are not compatible with the new version, you may want to wait until they are compatible before upgrading Confluence.
However, if they don't rely, you can disable an add-on temporarily while you upgrade and while it is not compatible yet to avoid possible issues.
You can rely on the Confluence 6.1 Upgrade Guide documentation to help you out if you may need any further information.
Hope it helps!

Marcelo is 100% right, I wanted to add, the latest version is Confluence 6.2.1 - Here is the doc for that version:
I suggest the latest version unless plugin incompatibilities necessitate 6.1.
