Hello, I'm having a Problem with configurating the Server for Confluence. I'm working with a MS SQL 2003 Express Server on a VM. My Problem was that I couldn't connect the Server Database with Confluence, know, after that I shutdown the Server, every time I click on the 'Access Confluence' , I get a broken page with the title:
HTTP Status 500 - java.lang.IllegalStateException: Spring Application context has not been set
I hope you can help me.
The error you get is often caused because the user running Confluence does not have permission to write on Confluence directories. You can find more in Confluence Does Not Start Due to 'Spring Application context has not been set'.
Regarding the database of your choice, please note it is not supported by any recent version of Confluence. You can check the supported databases for the latest version in Supported Platforms.
Thanks for the answer, I resolved the porblem by installing Confluence again. You've said that my database isn't compatible.. So you mean it's not possible to run Confluence on a MS SQL EXPRESS Server? Because I'm having many problems with it.

the link: " Confluence Does Not Start Due to 'Spring Application context has not been set' " does not work which is annoying because it appears to be something that would be very useful to me right now....
