Add two panels inside column

Jennifer Brown April 10, 2019

Hello,

I have a three column layout with bordered panels, but they go straight down the whole page. In one of these columns I want to have two panels. I know I am missing something! Can someone please assist?

Hi Jennifer.

Columns are independent of each other. They are not automatically filled to be the same height. If you need 2 of the panels side by side, you need to put each in their own column.

Do you use the column macro or the page layout columns?

Or did you want to say you need one of the columns to be divided again at some point? You can do that with the section macro and two 50% column macros inside.

So I don't know how to explain things well, but essentially what I have right now is three columns that are all the same size. That part looks great. I have one bordered panel in each of my columns, and what I would like to have is on the first column, to have those bordered panels be two boxes and have one above and one below.

Do you mean like this:

Or rather like this:

Okay, so on Confluence Server you can do that like I suggested earlier, with the section and column macros. I'm not completely sure if those are available on Cloud, though.

  1. Put the section macro under your Column 1a panel
  2. Then put the Column 1b and 1c panels each in a column macro inside the section macro
  3. Then put your Column 1d panel below the section macro.

@Jens Iwanenko  yes somewhat like same as shown in the picture, it should be adjustable panel, as of now we can place one after the other (top and bottom) only. if there a option place side by side instead of choosing panel option.
