Hello.
I have been looking for answers but I cannot find what I am trying to do on here.
I'm aware that pasted jira links in a confluence page are automatically adding the confluence page link to the jira ticket as "Mentioned in" but I'm not able to find a way to directly add the confluence page as the main page when I'm mentioning the jira ticket.
The following process forces me to delete the link of the mentioned confluence page and then I have to click on add a confluence page link to make it as the refering confluence page and not as "mentioned in".
Example of my confluence pages content:
Confluence page 01
Refering JIRA ticket : JIRA 01
Dependency to other JIRA tickets : JIRA 02, JIRA 03, JIRA 04
Confluence page 02
Refering JIRA ticket : JIRA 02
Dependency to other JIRA tickets : JIRA 01, JIRA 03, JIRA 04
When I add the link of said jira ticket 01(or 02) it will add the confluence page link in the mentioned confluence pages section which can be a problem to me if I have several confluence pages refering to the same jira ticket. This makes the reading a bit less obvious and slower, especially if the order has not been followed accurately and mixes tickets in random orders(which is a different problem, not the one I actually have).
It is interesting to have the "Confluence page" and "Mentioned in" sections of the Jira ticket so it would be effective to have a clear view of the different pages and what they are related to.
I was looking for anything in the macros or anywhere but I can't seem to find something.
Does anybody have an idea?
Hello Julien and welcome to the Community!
To ensure we’re understanding correctly, you’re wanting to ensure a Confluence page is linked to a Jira issue and any other mention of the Jira issue within Confluence is listed under only the “mentioned in” section of a Jira issue. The part I’m unclear about is what exactly you’re looking for within the “mentioned in” section of the Jira issue.
Could you please clarify a bit more on what you're expecting/wanting to see within the Confluence Page section? From this information will attempt to find a solution or create a feature request on your behalf for this.
Regards,
Stephen Sifers
Hello Stephen, thank you for your answer.
At the moment when we paste a jira issue's link into a confluence page, it automatically specifies the confluence page as "mentioned on" on the JIRA issue.
Now what I want to do is the same thing to happen but instead of having the confluence page specified as "mentioned on", I want it to directly go as "Confluence pages".
I know it is possible to do it directly on the JIRA issue but it is something I have to directly do opposed to the action I described above.
Basically I have a User Story issue in JIRA and I am writing the details of said US(requirements, acceptance criteria, etc) in a confluence page so I want my US specs of the confluence page directly linked to the jira issue when I paste it in confluence.
A good representation of what I get if I only copy paste jira issues in confluence is this :
What I want is to have the following when working in confluence(and not having to go back to the jira issue and work on it directly) :

Hello Julien,
Thank you for clarifying your workflow along with what you need when linking a Confluence page and a Jira issue.
Firstly, the linking of a Confluence page and a Jira issue can be broken down into the following logic:
With this said, what you’re wanting would be new functionality to the product. From this, I have created a feature request to have this evaluated within the product itself. You may find the feature request at JRACLOUD-72115. Further information on how new features are handled may be found at Implementation of New Features Policy.
While not a solution to the issue, I do hope this proves helpful in explaining the functionality along with showing we do take feedback and improvement requests seriously.

Stephen Sifers

Alright so it is not possible yet.
Thank you a lot for your time and the feature request as well. I hope it will be implemented in future updates!
Best Regards,
Julien MEYER.
