Hi,
I am using confluence 5.10.8 and I dont want some of the pages viewed anyone other than small groups. I am not sure whether system admins can access those pages or not.
Does anyone clarify on that?
If you lock down the page to only certain people/groups the admin(s) will not be able to view the page by default. However, since they are an admin they can grant themselved view permission. So, if you don't want your Confluence admins to have the ability to see the content don't put it in Confluence.
Exactly! You can't see it, but you can change it so you can. You just have to trust your admins. ;-)

====> this is right for the space admin but in my instance i see that confluence admin can see the restricted page by default without changing the restrictions . Do you confirm please ? Really i feel ST wrong.

Same here. As a system admin, I am able to see all pages, even with restrictions. We are currently searching for a solution to restrict pages, even for system admins. Any ideas?

We have this excellent document that describes who can access what:
Confluence Admin Permission Levels Explained
"Bottom line: unless those "admin" users are members of the confluence-administrators group, they should not be able to see an individual page locked via a page restriction."

Yet, as an admin you can remove the users that have restricted access and in the end remove the restriction on the page by doing so.
On the other hand, as an admin you might want to actually be able to give people access to restricted pages instead of having the manager/user who created the page doing that themself.
It feels inconsistent from user and admin perspective in my opinion.
