Use case: A team is uploading their mid-year accomplishments in the form of attachments. They only want the uploader and the manager to be able to see the attachment. Is there a way to specify this in Confluence?
In Jira, I was thinking create issue level security where the reporter and manager could see the issue. I would like to be able to apply the same logic to an attachment on a page in Confluence.
Hello Suzanne,
In Confluence, the attachment's permission is tied to the permission of the page. so if a user has access to that page, they will have access to the attachments.
That being said, I can think of a workaround, to have attachments in a page, but not directly.
We can create another page, with restrictions we want for the attachment, set on that page, and then link that page to the main page where we want everyone to access.
This way, everyone can see the main page, but only certain users will be able to access the page that's linked there.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Sattesh
