Confiform CSS value include confiform field value

Hi There 

I am trying to do the following in ConfiForms Rules for Fields (CSS) within CSS to apply when condition is met *

background:[entry.activity.color] !important;

Trying to make it dynamic based on value from a form, is this possible?

This parameter does not support dynamic parameters evaluation

I know this is an old post and evidently still not supported. Real shame b/c having to put a separate rule in for each field match is extremely tedious and hard to maintain. Being able to reference the entry would be huge, but I'm sure it has something to do with how the rule works during rendering.
