Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×I have started a trial of the confluence calendar. However, the SHARE button does not work, and if I send out the link the message I get is this is a restricted space.
The problem was a permissions.
Documentation in case you need detailed instructions on how to change the space permissions: https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/assign-space-permissions-724764762.html
Hello Matt,
Thank you for contacting us about this.
So from my understanding, you are already running Confluence, but you have a trial now of Team Calendars. Is that right?
Now you are trying to share a calendar with someone, but they're not able to access it. Is this correct?
I'd just like to know a few more things so I can better understand the situation.
Thank you for your help!
Regards,
Shannon

None of the permissions even matter. The bottom line is the share button doesn't work when clicked, and my team can't access it.
Not sure why this doesn't just work out of the box. Should I try another third party tool?
I'm not happy!

Hello Matt,
Thank you for the follow-up. I'm happy to hear from your other reply that you were able to solve it and it was indeed the permissions as suspected.
Could you let us know what in particular was the issue, in case this can help other users in the future?
For more information on Team Calendars and their permissions as well as restricting calendars, see below:
Calendars [...] respect the view permissions of their related space. When you create a calendar in a space, or add a related space to an existing calendar, only people with permission to view the space will be able to see the calendar.
For future reference, for anyone else that comes across this, this is how the space permissions work in Confluence Cloud:
Thank you again for letting us know you were able to resolve the issue.
Take care, and have a pleasant rest of your week.
Regards,
Shannon

Another likely answer, a Bug, like I ran into
broken "Share" button link in Team Calendars for Confluence plugin https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-53163?_ga=2.34473249.1844429382.1566947815-244213601.1565208266
