Confluence - Date Picker Format

Chris O'Gorman August 20, 2019

Hi, I cannot adjust the date format. The format prints as '12 Aug 2019'. This is not optimal when exporting a bunch of dates to Word. Any recent developments on this issue? I don't think changing the language will work for us. Thank you

Hello Chris,

Thank you for contacting us.

Indeed, the format chosen by the date picker is based on the user's language and locale. I wasn't sure if you were saying it wouldn't work for you because you don't want to change the language, or you don't think it will solve the issue, but I am including the below articles on how to do that just in case:

We have a feature request below to be able to configure that outside of the language settings:

Thank you for your understanding.

Regards,

Shannon

@Shannon S was it always like that? We are on Cloud, and the date format that popped up with the '//' shortcut was always dd-mm-yyyy and suddenly it is now showing up as mm-dd-yyyy. Not complaining, as this is more intuitive for our team, but was curious when that change went into effect.

Thanks!

Hello Brooke,

Apologies for the delay. As long as I can remember, it did work that way on Cloud. I'm no longer a support engineer on that team, so I just checked with my colleagues who still are, and they do confirm that is the case.

There's a possibility that the global language was changed or someone is using a new browser language, as those could have taken over and changed the format for the users.

Regards,

Shannon
