×Hi guys,
So I have the following shortcuts enabled under Confluence admin -> Shortcut Links
google http://www.google.com/search?q
cache http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:<br< a=""> />googlegroups http://groups.google.com/groups?q=<br< a=""> />imdb http://us.imdb.com/Title? Remove
dictionary http://www.dict.org/bin/Dict?Database=*&Form=Dict1&Strategy=*&Query=
But when I put "test@google" into the quick search bar on the top right and the page doesn't show any result. What did I do wrong?
From the documentation:
Shortcut links provide a quick way of linking to resources that are frequently referenced from Confluence. When you create a shortcut link, you assign a key to an URL so that, when editing, a user can type just the key instead of the complete URL.
The shortcut links can be used in the editor to quickly link to resources, not in the search bar.
Hope this helps
Agreed, even the built in shortcuts don't work:
google http://www.google.com/search?q=
should result in the ability to use a link shortcut in a Confluence space page like [xkcd@google] but it doesn't do anything.

The shortcut links are not meant to help with the search box.
Instead, they allow you to enter links on a page quickly and easily. For example, you can enter a link such as test@google onto a page, then when the link is clicked it will redirect to the full Google search URL.

This doesn't work for me at all on Confluence Cloud in 2019 or Confluence Server 5.10. You don't have to troubleshoot for me, I just wanted to let others know that it may not be worth trying to get this working.
