Custom HTML to disable Notify Watchers by default

Hello!

I've been trying to find a solution to the default behaviour of the "Notify Watchers" checkbox which is always checked by default and people often forget to uncheck it when doing frequent updates to a page.

I did find a helpful Knowledge Base article that suggests using Custom HTML to set the "Notify Watchers" checkbox to be unchecked by default but I wanted to understand if there's a way to selectively apply this to a particular space than to all the spaces in an instance by using some kind of conditional checks or parameters (as you can guess I do not know HTML).

Any and all help will be highly appreciated as this is a long ongoing issue my team has been facing and IT has been swift to strike down any approach we put forward.

You could consider the 'No email storm' add-on (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/42684/no-email-storm?tab=overview&hosting=server), it's free.

It replaces the checkbox by a button, so that you have a Save button and a Save&Notify button.

Sadly our IT folks have a massive turnaround time with integrating new add-ons.

Well what they are suggesing is adding Javascript to the instances HTML. So you could modify the script to trigger off space key.  You need to find someone who is good at scripting. ;-)
