Draw.io exporting functionalities

What are the exporting options for Draw.io Confluence plugin? What file types could diagrams be exported to and what other software apps is it compatible with?

draw.io exports to PNG, GIF, JPG, PDF and SVG currently. What there a specific tool you need to output data to?

Do you support Visio export?  I know lucidcharts supports Visio export and import.

We created a diagram with Draw.io Confluence plugin and want to share it to Non-Confluence User but its not possible to export the diagram as a draw io file (*.drawio).

Is there a way to do it?

The diagram data is an attachment on the Confluence page you created it on. Download that attachment, or make that attachment visible to the non-Confluence user somehow.

Well, if we would ever decide to discontinue using this plugin, we need to have a way of preserving all the data and being able to export and manipulate it in some other software. Is this possible?

Is there for example an option to export this and import to the most well known diagramming tool or some other well known commercial tool for diagrams?

SVG is a pretty standard vector format, the referenced tool can read it.

Good question actually: we are facing this question at the moment and have to decide whether or not to continue with draw.io as the newest versions are not free anymore. One of our major concerns is, if we discontinue with draw.io, how much work will it be to find all the pages where a draw.io diagram is placed and convert the drawing to something else. If it is a lot of manual work, I might advice to discontinue the plugin right now, so it will not be more work even in a year. We don't mind paying a fair price for a plugin, but we do mind getting too dependent on any plugin or tool. The current version we have is incompatible with Confluence 5.7. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a list of all Confluence pages where a Diagramly diagram is placed, so I can make an impact analysis?

Fully agree with becoming dependent on a tool that can then change terms and hold you hostage. To combat this we took the following steps:

1. draw.io is open source. This means it's always possible to obtain the codebase capable of viewing and editing diagrams.
2. We created a free, open source Desktop version of draw.io. If you don't want to host draw.io on a server, this provides an easy way to open, edit and save draw.io diagrams.
3. We always store the diagram data on the host. In the case of Confluence that is stored as attachments to the page. This means you can download the attachments and open/edit/save using 1 and/or 2.

Thanks for the fast reply. Sounds good. It would be good to know as well if it is possible to export all drawings in the future automatically one way or the other. Or at least if we can get a list of all pages where a diagramly drawing is present. Is/will that possible?

It's technically possible, we don't have the code in place to do that, but I've added a ticket to track this.
