Hi Brian,
I would reference the documentation provided in the Atlassian marketplace, to start. Assuming this is the app you're talking about:
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/245/composition-tabs-page-layout?hosting=server&tab=overview
In the bottom right corner, there is a link to 'Documentation'. That will take you to the vendor's site, which outlines installation as well as user guides. They've got a step-by-step walkthrough of each piece of functionality in the app.
Morgan

Absolutely - according to Atlassian's documentation, it is disabled intentionally.
"The HTML macro is disabled by default. You'll need Confluence Administrator or System Administrator permissions to enable this macro.
Enabling these macros can make your Confluence site vulnerable to cross-site scripting attacks. You should only turn on these macros if you trust all your users not to attempt to exploit them. We strongly recommend leaving this macro disabled if you allow self-signed up or anonymous users to create content."

That page does walk through the steps to enable it, although recommends against it.
