I created a set of pages by copying an existing page tree. When I go to the root page, it shows that I created it. If I look at the page permissions, it shows that I can edit it (I am also a space admin). There's no edit option though. If I add myself again, the edit option appears. Is this a known bug/ feature? Is there anything I can do to avoid it happening - it's obviously not ideal.
Hi @Jax Blunt ,
as space admin, please go to Space Tools -> Permissions -> Restricted Pages and check page restrictions for the copied pages.
Hope this helps,
Fabio
I see that the page is restricted and I'm not on the list there. So even though I'm on the list of editors that I see first off, the restrictions overrule this. Is this by design or a flaw? (It seems like a flaw quite frankly, if it says I can edit, I ought to be able to edit.)

Hi @Jax Blunt ,
restrictions are based on parent, if a specific page has not restriction defined otherwise page restrictions win on the parent ones.
I don't know your current configuration for that pages so I can't support you on that.

Hm, the restrictions are to a group of people I'm not in, as I joined after the original page was set up. I'll have to have a look at whether page restrictions are a necessary inheritance. Thanks.

Hi @Jax Blunt ,
The ancestor
table records the parent and descendant (child) relationship between pages. It is also used when determining whether a page will inherit view restrictions from a parent page.
Occasionally records in the ancestor table can become corrupted. The Repair the Ancestors Table scheduled job finds and automatically fixes problems in the ancestor's table in all current spaces. The job runs daily.
I would suggest you to go through the below link and check if its helps:
Thanks,

I can't find the general configuration menu item, so I suspect that I don't have the right authority to check that, but thanks for trying.
