If the expandable widget is the same as the Expand Macro then it does accept rich text, https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Expand+Macro

Hi Ann,

I want to change the style of the text inside the expand macro. the below style is working for heading of expand macro.

1. #com-atlassian-confluence .expand-control-text {
2. color: red;
3. font-weight: bold;
4. }
