I have a set of pages on confluence listing some stories extracted from JIRA.
For this, I am using the "JIRA issues" macro which will keep the lists up to date every time one of these pages is displayed.
However, I would also like to be able to search some text within these pages, including the text returned from the JIRA search...
Confluence doesn't seem to be working like this however. I understand that the pages are only rendered when accessed and so the text of those JIRA requests results can't be searched from Confluence search tool.
Does anyone know of a way to circumvent this limitation ?
Hi Cyril,
I don’t believe this functionality is possible in Confluence. Here’s why:
The search functionality is powered by the Confluence Search Index and Apache Lucene. Content must be added to the index queue for indexing and the queue is processed every five seconds by default. When you go to search for data, Confluence will look through the index and retrieve results based on your search.
Since the data from Jira is dynamically created and is coming from another application, I don’t believe it would be possible to add data from Jira into Confluence’s index.
I hope that information helps. If anyone else has a workaround, please feel free to chime in!
Best,
Rachel
