Hello,
I was searching some information on deleting/disabling users in Confluence WIKI Cloud and I read this article: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/delete-or-disable-users-138318.html.
Following the steps from the article, I have disabled some users in our Confluence instance.
However, although I can see in the User Export that the users I disabled are not active anymore, I would like to not see the users I disabled at all.
Unfortunately, this is not explained in the article I consulted and I did not find any other information on this.
Is it possible to completely remove, from the system, a disabled user or not ?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello @Iuliana Burgi Jurj,
You could delete a user but Atlassian does not recommend to do this:
"We recommend that you deactivate a user rather than deleting them, in case some applications contain historical data, e.g. documents that the user has created."
Can you please explain where you are seeing your disabled users? If you're using Confluence Cloud, you should be able to hide them:
Hope this helps,
- Manon
Hello Manon,
It is actually in the export that I see the users. But they are flagged like Inactive. Just like in your example.
So I guess that it is better to keep the users as disabled then.
Thank you.

Are you ticking the "Inactive users" box? If not, they shouldn't appear in your export:
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
If I do not tick it, they do not appear. So it is ok.
Thank you.
