We use LDAP for user authentication and also for group access to various spaces. When the group names change in LDAP, Confluence sees the new group name but the spaces and pages are still set to the old name. How do we find all the old names so we can get them changed to the new name?
Hello Delmar,
renaming groups are not supported in Confluence and JIRA.
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-13571
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-1391
To search for the group usage look at the database or database backup:
I think that are the relevant tables.
I suggest you to manage your groups in Confluence if you can't control changes within the LDAP server.

Tim
Thank you, Tim. Is there a way to list the unknown groups of pages/spaces? Then would be able to adjust them instead of waiting for users to call that they have lost access.

I think only a database backup will assist you with that. Or you import the dump to a Confluence test server and prevent the LDAP sync to look at GUI level.

I'm not able to access the CONF link either. The JIRA one does though.
