Using Page Tree with Refined Theme and want the tree collapsed by default. Is this possible?

CParHY April 12, 2019

Is there a way to get the page tree macro to be completely collapsed by default?

@CParHY The response from Dennis got me thinking that maybe you could do a "hack" with using javascript to automate executing the collapse all button once the page fully loads. (At least until the proper enhancement is done by Refined)  I'm don't have enough knowledge of javascript to tell you how to do this but I would assume it is pretty simple to call that action once the page fully loads. You could put the javascript in the global custom html configuration or inside an html macro on the specific space or page (if you have it enabled)

Hi @CParHY

The current behaviour for the Refined page tree is to always expand the current page. Navigating to the space, this of course means expanding the space home page (often the root page). Currently there’s no setting for loading the page tree fully collapsed. The closest would be to include ‘Expand All’/‘Collapse All’ buttons, available through the settings. You can see more information on our documentation: https://docs.refined.com/display/rwot/Page+Tree

Pressing collapse all, you might as well press to collapse the current page though, so I understand that this doesn’t really solve your issue. Your welcome to raise a new feature request for such a setting through our support portal if you’d like: http://support.refined.com and we’ll take it under consideration for future releases of the product.

Best regards,

Hi @CParHY -  You can collapse most of the rw page tree macro.  If you edit the macro properties and change the value of "Expand Depth" to "0" this should get you close to what you want.  Let me know if you need further clarification.

HI Chris,

Thank you for the reply!  I had tried that but it doesn't seem to be working as expected.  The top level "parent" page is still expanded to one child level... any other thoughts on how to override this expanded default so it's collapsed to start?

@CParHY - yes unfortunately that is the same as I was seeing, the first one always expanded by default, with the refined page tree macro at least.
