The link below lists yaml as one of the code blocks, but its not listed in our instance. I also dont see an option to add via configure code block macro. Any ideas how can we get it added? I am a site admin and have full rights.

I'm guessing you are on Confluence Cloud? YAML syntax highlighting was added to Confluence Server version 6.7, but doesn't appear to be added in Cloud yet, and in Cloud there is no option to add new highlighting rules.
However, you could install the Better Code Macro Marketplace app, which has many more syntax highlighting options and which is free (and directly from Atlassian).

Unfortunately, "Better Code Macro" is now 'hidden from public view because it no longer meets the requirements for Atlassian Marketplace'.

You're right. Atlassian are removing apps from the Marketplace without any Terms of Service, but seems strange that they would remove their own app.
I also checked the regular code macro, in case they enabled YAML support, but apparently they still don't support it as of today.

Not supporting YAML in the code block on hosted confluence seems like a poor choice. What can we do to get Atlassian to add YAML?

Not solved for me.
Me-too wants a solution - and i am indifferent if Atlassian or free plug in will solve this for me.

The current state of "Better Code Macro" is "unsupported" - but it still looks available to me. I might be on error.

You can use Code Syntax Highlighter from Marketplace: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219685/code-syntax-highlighter
It works similar ways as code macro but supports almost all programming languages and text formats in use including YAML.
