hello members,
I am getting an error "You have exceeded maximum number of users for your license. You will still be able to view content, but in order to create or edit content, you must reduce the number of active users in the installation " and it shows do two things disable or delete user. I did check the forums and found that users listed under can use will be counted as active users. Do i have a way where i give space creation ,content adding , editing to few users and just a viewing access to rest of all the users.?
Thanks,
Sreekar.
Hi,
If you want to reduce the user counts, then you neec to remove the "Can Use" permission from the users. Just like ou removed them from Confluence-users group. But then you are right, this will not allow users to login anymore and they will get "not permitted error".
As you only want those users to have read only access, you may enable public access with view permission only, therefore, users do not have to login and they still can view Confluence. For more information you may refer to the link below:

Thank you so much Hossein and Rambanam Prasad , I shall try the above solution and will get back to you. Primary solution of removing users from confluence-users group and adjusting the users to the available licenses has been fixed . I shall try the above read only solution and will close this thread upon succesful results.

Hi,
the document gives me info on all the things, but i was not able to get the users logged in success .. it was giving an error saying not permitted. I have actually removed them from confluence-users group . I had previously experienced this not permitted error when they were not part of confluence-users group so added them to that at that point of time. I would want to have them only a read only access. what do i have to do.?
